Energy's contract with Universal Music will end @ the end of Jul dis year. It has been confirmed that both parties will not be continuing their contract with one another, does this mean that the once popular boyband may become only a name in history.
This past 1 and a half years has been filled with trials and tribulations. It was only yesterday that our papers exposed the fact that Ah Di was recruited into the AirForce and has secretly gone to Tainan for 20days of training, which was denied by Universal Music.
Yesterday, Universal Music explained that they had denied the fact that Ah Di was in the Army bcoz they were hoping that Ah Di would be exempted from the Army and if news of him going into the army was not released, Energy could continue with the recording and promotion of their new album. This was also to prevent fans from going to the camp to look for Ah Di.
Thankfully, it has been confirmed lat nite that Ah Di would be exempted from the army.
Ah Di said during his interview with our papers that, as soon as he had quit school earlier this year, he had received the notice for him to go for national service. He said :" Going for national service is only a matter of time and it is our duty to our country. There's really nothing to deny, it is only that i din want pple to worry abt me, its not that i wanted to bluff anyone.] He said that when he was in Tanan for training, he had gone to the army doctor for a check-up and has been certified as unsuitable for training. The doctors ceritfied that his spinal cord was pressing against his tailbone, which makes even walking painful. " Now that i am exempted from army, i will have to have a check-yp every 6 mths to certify if i am to be exempted or not."
Anyways, Energy will be able to concentrate on the recording of their album, which is expected to be released in May/Jun. However, Energy has met with another obstacle, which is that their contract with Universal Music will end in Jul and both parties have expressed no intrestes in renewing the contract.
Universal Music said : " Energy's fans are mature enough and should know that even w/o the renewal of the contract, they should not make things difficult for both parties." As Universal Music own the rights to the name,
, no one knows what will happen after the end of the contract. Are they gonna go pursue their individual careers ?? Are they gonna call themselves by another name ???With the release of their new album in end May/Jun, the sales numbers will be very important. As it will determine if this album will be their last and Energy will become a thing of the past.
Energy's fans suggested online that to recover some of their lost popularity, they should ask Toro back to the group. But this idea was rejected by Toro's current manager, Sun De Rong saying: " Toro was hurt by them in the past and now they want to ride on Toro's popularity, this is definately impossible, why must Toro go down with them now? " Removing any possibilities of Energy becoming a 5-men group once again.
sigh.
sigh.
i really hope history wont repeat itself. the toro matter has been heartbreaking enough. if they are going to break up after this album i think all the fans are going to cry their hearts out.
its unfair.
horribly unfair.
i hate universal.
