finally i've decided to blog about new zealand. lols.
havent recieved the full bulk of photos yet, so shall just try to illustrate with what i have xD
day 1
onboard EK432. with touchscreen LCD screens lol. sat with phy for first 6 hours and wing for the next 3.watched music&lyrics. ate plenty, and slept plenty too.
day 2
nothing much. introduced to NZ. saw plenty of cows and sheep, stopped at L&P for some food and went to Karangahake Gorge. returned to omokoroa for overnight stay. the food was. urm. weird. lols. roomed with nicole soong teng and wingyan. and the gigantic spider in the bathroom lol.
(ps. there are 4 million people in NZ, but 60 million sheep!)
day 3
mount maunganui! was a funner day. with the beach which was full of SHELLS and SHELLS and more SHELLS. haha.
in the afternoon we climbed the mountain. lol was kinda tiring after a while. all of us were so relieved after climbing all the way up the slope. then we got greeted by a few flights of stairs. cheat feeling sia. and michelle kept telling enid not to faint otherwise she will have to carry her all the way down =p
day 4
one of my favourite days! with the chilling river, the potholes, the jetboat ride and the kiwi farm. was quite sianded in the morning cos it was freaking cold. but cheered up a lot later. the potholes were gigantic la. and i fell once lol. and wet my feet in the water which was ultra cold. =/ and josef tan dropped my book into the river :/ lols. was quite funny. and the jetboat was really super fun la. sorry michelle for the bruises :/ but yeah we were the wettest group but also the funnest (: hahha. and the parrot which kept saying 'hi' at the door x) this was the day i caught up a lot with dear mich too (: haha shared some of our unhappy feelings! rmbr how we sat outside the accomodation in the cold and looking as if we were emo-ing.

day 5
estuary day! heh. we walked all the way to the beach. and then went barefooted into the (muddy) waters and looked for cockles, crabs etc. was cold but fun (: remember enid and mich were saying how we are afraid they are going to get flesh eating bacteria cos they got cuts after that. lols. and then we walked barefooted back to omokora cos we didnt want to get our socks muddy too. kinda fun experience thou the road was real rocky thus pain haha.
the picture is so nice it looks FAKE la. -.- and that's us picking the cockles and crabs barefooted!
visited the tourist park. and arrived the the maori place shortly after. remembered how wing and i were disappointed cos we thought the maori place would be some tribal place xD lol. was quite funny. the warrior dance thing was urm haha quite hilarious actually =/ i was trying not to laugh and i think everybody was trying not to also. lols. we had this touching of noses thing. the people were so friendly! (: and the maori dinner was fantastic la. still remembered the lamp stew and mash potato. damn nice! haha. then we all slept together in the paroae.
day 6
left the maori place in the morning and went to hells gate. freaking smelly la :/ lols. and it was raining too. saw the geothermal pools and mud volcanos. then we had buffet lunch (which was quite wasted cos we had only a short time to eat :p) and went for the skyline luge ride. it was fun! haha. we(nicole wingyan and me) went for the scenic ride first, and then the intermediate one. which we regretted cos the intermediate ride was a disappointment. should have tried advance xD
and then we visited a gorge at Huka Falls. and had this long 2 hour ride to howards lodge where mark and co started to sing random songs in the bus lols. freaking noisy and embarrassing la but somehow brought up the mood and went quite crazy for a while lols.
day 7
visited mount ruapehu! there was SNOW on the mountain la. and its the place where they filmed mount modor in LOTR. haha. and we actually met hci people there. small world man.
and it was cold most of us wore like 4 layers. :/ haha.
spastic! haha.
then we took a super long walk around the national park. busy watching our steps rather than admiring the scenery la -.- but yeah. and we all agreed that nz has a lot of places for you to emo. lols.
visited the tangiwai site again and learnt about the lahar story. freaky sia. and then its back to howards. haha. that night we played the PEG game. duno who's biantai idea =/ haha. as you can see from the photo. we get pegged. and its much more painful than it seem! mr najib 'won' the game with more than 10pegs on him =p HAHA.
day 8
waitomo day! basically just spent it walking around the waitomo kiwipaka place. saw plenty of limestone and limestone caves. chior people sang in the cave. and then we were off for the glow worm cave boat ride (: quite a nice experience though it was kinda too short.
after that we left waitomo for auckland. lol. took many photos on the bus because that would be the last time we could see the countryside.
and then there was dinner at denny's restaurant where we took random, unglam photos haha.
day 9
visited mount eden and camwhored more there hehe. then it was shopping! i spent 500bucks at NZ la. =/ ooh. and we got lost at night hahah. mich led us in the wrong direction! ended up walking all the way back. lols. but when we finally got back we drank hot campbell soup with chips and cup noodles and apple juice. played bridge with enid, mich, chris when they returned till 3+am haha.. and mr najib fell asleep on the sofa waiting for us xp
day 10
visited auckland university. haha. i kinda slept thru when the geog teacher told us about majoring in geog there. :/ oops. haha. did some last min shopping for soveniors especially and then left for the airport. i didnt wanna go back la ):
and that sums up the whole of the nz trip. (: haha. so fun. hope there'll be another geog trip next year in march or sthg so we can go haha. and i am still waiting for photos frm mich wing and mark haha. especially on the days when my cam batt went flat and depended on them for photos lol. thank you phy mich wingyan mark nicole soongteng for the memories and fun. as well as the a14 lot chris melissa and enid! :D
